S.M.A.R.T. goals & the building blocks to growing your business

Before you set out on a marketing campaign there are some really important – and simple processes to explore.

S.M.A.R.T. goals are the first building blocks that you need for your program:

  • Specific (simple, sensible, significant).
  • Measurable (meaningful, motivating).
  • Achievable (agreed, attainable).
  • Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based).
  • Time bound (time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive).

To make it a little easier — here’s three questions to ask yourself.

  1. Where are you at now?

How much monthly revenue is your business doing?

How much profit are you making each month?

How many customers/clients do you have?

How many leads are you getting each month?

How many website visitors (users) are you getting each month?

How many people are in your team?

What’s your current pay-per-click (PPC) advertising metrics?

For example, what’s your return-on-ad-spend?

  1. Where do you want to be?

How much monthly revenue do you want to be doing?

How much profit do you want to be making?

How many customers/clients do you want to have?

How many leads do you want to have each month?

How many website visitors do you want to have each month?

What do you want your life to be like?

    3. How do I achieve these goals?

Is it a lack of time, resources, skills? Bad quality leads? Lack of funding?

Or maybe you don’t have a sales funnel or marketing strategy in place?

Maybe it was a lack of technology/software that was robbing your team of efficiency/productivity?

These simple questions will then inform how you want to move forward and allow you to target your ideal clients, work on the strengths of your business and achieve your personal goals.
